Mr D Romano, LA Appointed

I'm your local education authority governor. My appointment was confirmed on 7 February, 2020. Though I'm new to this role (writing this in April 2020), I'm not new to education, schools and governing bodies.

I graduated from Manchester University in 1960, took a one-year post-graduate teaching course at the same University and was appointed a class teacher at a primary school in Altrincham in October 1961.

In 1966 I was offered a deputy-headship in Cheshire and I spent the rest of my career working for the same authority, subsequently as head of 3 very different primary schools, from small rural to large urban. For 3 years I was a governor at a local secondary school. After my retirement I went back into schools as a classroom assistant.
